The first disc opens with George Michael's dance classic 'Too Funky' from the 'Red Hot & Dance' project. It is followed by the longest-running number one hit of the year, 'Stay' by Shakespears Sister, which spent 8 weeks at the top. Other notable tracks on the disc include The KLF's final single, 'America: What Time Is Love?', and U2's 'Even Better Than The Real Thing' remixed by Perfecto. Take That, Kylie Minogue, Jimmy Nail, Charles & Eddie, Shanice, and En Vogue also contribute their chart-topping hits from that year. The disc closes with outstanding self-penned contemporary standards from Sade, Annie Lennox, Tori Amos, and Tasmin Archer's debut number one hit, 'Sleeping Satellite'. Additionally, it features tracks from Marc Almond, Boy George, Electronic, and a remix of Heaven 17's 'Temptation' by Brothers In Rhythm, leading towards the closing track by Tears For Fears.
Disc 2 begins with the title track from Bruce Springsteen's albums 'Human Touch' and 'Lucky Town', both released on the same day. It is followed by massive rock hits from Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, and ZZ Top's cover of 'Viva Las Vegas'. Roy Orbison's posthumous Top 10 hit and Richard Marx's popular track 'Hazard' are also included. The disc features radio-friendly soft rock from Texas, Mr Big, Sophie B. Hawkins, Patty Smyth, and Don Henley. Furthermore, Chris Rea and Elton John contribute timeless and sophisticated ballads, while Des'ree, Julia Fordham, and Lisa Stansfield showcase great vocals to conclude the disc.
Disc 3 showcases the dance-pop hits that dominated the charts in 1992. It bursts into action with the worldwide number one hit 'Rhythm Is A Dancer' by SNAP! The disc also features tracks from The Shamen, Utah Saints, 2 Unlimited, and Dr. Alban. Classic late '70s songs like 'Baker Street' and 'Please Don't Go' are reimagined as huge dance hits, while CeCe Peniston, Kym Sims, Dina Carroll, and Paula Abdul deliver floor-fillers. The disc concludes with a superb selection of alternative pop tracks from The Cure, Suede, Manic Street Preachers, Simple Minds, and Siouxsie And The Banshees' track 'Face To Face' from the film 'Batman Returns'.
The final disc opens with Whitney Houston's iconic and best-selling track of the year, 'I Will Always Love You'. It is followed by massive hits from Vanessa Williams and Lionel Richie. Kylie Minogue and Take That make their second appearance on the collection with their first Top 10 single, 'It Only Takes A Minute'. The disc reflects the diverse genres contributing to pop music in 1992, featuring tracks from East 17, MC Hammer, Kris Kross, Bananarama, and Roxette. The closing run includes Go West, Crowded House, Simply Red, and the year's biggest-selling album, 'Stars' by Wet Wet Wet. Shakespears Sister has the final word with their stunning ballad 'Hello (Turn Your Radio On)'.
