| The first disc opens with George Michael's dance classic 'Too Funky' from the 'Red Hot & Dance' project. It is followed by the longest-running number one hit of the year, 'Stay' by Shakespears Sister, which spent 8 weeks at the top. Other notable tracks on the disc include The KLF's final single, 'America: What Time Is Love?', and U2's 'Even Better Than The Real Thing' remixed by Perfecto. Take That, Kylie Minogue, Jimmy Nail, Charles & Eddie, Shanice, and En Vogue also contribute their chart-topping hits from that year. The disc closes with outstanding self-penned contemporary standards from Sade, Annie Lennox, Tori Amos, and Tasmin Archer's debut number one hit, 'Sleeping Satellite'. Additionally, it features tracks from Marc Almond, Boy George, Electronic, and a remix of Heaven 17's 'Temptation' by Brothers In Rhythm, leading towards the closing track by Tears For Fears.

Roy Orbison's posthumous Top 10 hit and Richard Marx's popular track 'Hazard' are also included. The disc features radio-friendly soft rock from Texas, Mr Big, Sophie B. Hawkins, Patty Smyth, and Don Henley. Furthermore, Chris Rea and Elton John contribute timeless and sophisticated ballads, while Des'ree, Julia Fordham, and Lisa Stansfield showcase great vocals to conclude the disc.
